Hearts

With computer opponents, play the classic Hearts card game. Each player takes three cards from his or her hand and passes them face down to the next player. Before looking at the cards acquired from an opponent, all players must pass their own cards. The passing rotation is as follows: 1. to your left, 2. to your right, 3. to the player across the table, and 4. no passing. This rotation continues till the game is over. After the passing, the player who holds the 2 of clubs plays that card to begin the first trick. If at all feasible, each player must follow suit. If a player has no cards in the lead suit, he or she may discard a card from any other suit. A heart or the Queen of Spades cannot be played if a player has no clubs when the first trick is lead. A trick is won by the highest card of the suit led (there is no trumps in this game). The trick's winner receives all of the cards and begins the following trick. Hearts cannot be led until the Queen of Spades or a heart has been played (this is known as 'breaking' hearts). At any time, the Queen of Spades can be led. The amount of hearts a player has taken is totaled at the end of each hand; each heart is worth one point. The 13th card in the deck is the Queen of Spades. If a player wins all 13 hearts and the Queen of Spades, he has the option of subtracting 26 points from his score or adding 26 points to the score of every other player. The game of hearts is played to a score of 100 points, and when a player reaches this score, the game is over. The player with the lowest score is declared the winner.
