    Ingredients

    For the Dough:

    • 8 flat dough discs (pierogi wrappers)

    • Water

    • Pinch of salt (for boiling water)

    • Sour cream and sauerkraut (optional, for serving)

    Potato and Cheese Filling:

    • 2 cups mashed potatoes

    • 1 lb cheese (your choice), cubed

    • Salt

    • Onion salt

    • White pepper

    Meat Filling:

    • 1¼ lbs lean ground beef

    • 2 eggs (lightly beaten)

    • 2 Tbsp vegetable oil

    • 1 onion (chopped)

    • 2 garlic cloves (chopped)

    • ½ tsp salt

    • 1 tsp pepper

    • Pinch of ground cumin

    • Pinch of ground allspice


    Cooking Instructions:

    Make the Meat Filling:

    1. In a large bowl, combine chopped onion, garlic, salt, pepper, cumin, allspice, eggs, and ground beef. Mix well.

    2. Heat oil in a pan, cook the meat mixture for 3–5 minutes, stirring until browned. Set aside.

    Make the Potato & Cheese Filling: 3. In another bowl, mix mashed potatoes, cheese, salt, onion salt, and white pepper until smooth.

    Assemble the Pierogi: 4. Take a dough disc, add a spoonful of filling in the center. Wet the edges, cover with another disc, and seal with a fork.
    5. Repeat with remaining dough and fillings.

    Cook the Pierogi: 6. Boil a large pot of salted water. Add pierogi and cook 3–5 minutes, until they float.
    7. Remove with a slotted spoon and serve hot. Optional: top with sauerkraut or sour cream!
